Mosiah 26:38. "And now all these things did Alma and his fellow laborers do who were over the church, walking in all diligence, teaching the word of God in all things"

In the Book of Mormon, Alma is probably my favorite prophet. Right now I am looking to him and his ministry for inspiration on the person I'm trying to become. I've been pondering this scripture in Mosiah all week. I've thought to myself: am I like Alma? Am I walking in diligence? Am I teaching the Word of God in all things?

This week, I tried to focus on teaching the word of God in all things. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. I've been carrying one around everywhere I go ever since I got here. I want to keep doing that, because it's the most important tool in teaching others of the restored gospel.

When I get nervous about talking to someone (which unfortunately happens more than I like) I open up the Book of Mormon and quickly read a verse that I've marked previously. It fills me with comfort and peace. It gives me not only courage but encouragement to share the message with everyone!

There's a powerful spirit that testifies of the Book of Mormon. I've already seen a big difference in teaching without/with the word of God.

I'd invite you all to consider using the words of God more in your own lives. I encourage you to read from them each day. The Bible, the Book of Mormon, all of God's words will bring us closer to him. They will bring you the peace and joy that we're all searching for.

In our mission, we've been trying to use our car a lot less, and so we started walking this week. [Elder Hatch and I both can attest just how great the TIWI is ;)] But walking has been a lot of fun! It's great to be on the streets and just spending the whole day outside and talking to people. Some are definitely more open and ready to hear the message of the restored gospel than others, and so we're try to find those who are prepared to receive it.

On Tuesday, we were walking to an appointment and all of the sudden we hear this lady tell at us to come over to her- so we quickly ran across the street and she said that she has been looking for us missionaries to come and teach her and her family. She isn't a member, and I don't know if she even has any relation to the church, but she was seeking us out because she felt something when she saw missionaries walking around. What a neat lady.

Serving a mission so far has really strengthened my faith in people. I already have seen that there are people out there who are looking for the truth but just don't know where it is. I've had moments when I'm thinking about how many people are here and ready, and I feel overwhelmed because there's so many people out there who we need to find!! But, we're trying to work hard and I'm trying to go one day at a time.

I promised that I'd keep these weekly's short, I know you're all busy :) but I want you all to know that I love being out here. I love this amazing opportunity to devote 100% of my effort to God. To those who aren't aware, my purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come to Christ. We spend 2 years of our lives to serve, love, and teach others. Like Christ would. We bear his name right on our nametags, we strive to take his name upon us in every sense. We strive to be full-time representatives of Him. We are teaching the word of God in all things, especially in our examples.

I know that Christ lives. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. Love you all!! Have a fantastic week :) ingat!
