Hello po!! Another week has gone by.. and I have no idea where it went! I uploaded two weeks worth of pictures so enjoy those :)
I don't have a whole lot of time, but I want to just share a quick experience! This week we were walking to an appointment, and we decided to take a quick side street that neither of us have been down yet. So we did and like always we could hear little kids yelling "Americano!!" and everyone running to the center of the street. They all stop and quietly wait and then I wave and they all wave back. Those moments fill me with joy. I love all the little kids here. We walked up to all of them, high fiving and saying hi.. We teach a couple nanays (their moms) about the Restoration and get their contact information, or rather Elder Ruiz focused on that while I played basketball with all the kids. We usually focus more on teaching... But I love playing basketball with all the kids here. After I threw down on the court I gave a testimony about Jesus Christ and that his gospel has been restored to the Earth. We call it basketball contacting and its a great way to build trust.. I think. Im still learning and trying new things out.
Anyways after that we continue down the street and it turns into straight jungle, and we keep walking and decide theres no more people. On our way back I got one of the absolute biggest bloody nose ever known. Jeez it was huge! Anyways all I have is two kleenexes and a piece of cloth. I was worried because it didn't seem like it was going to stop anytime soon, and we needed to get back on the main road before it got dark. The sun was setting pretty fast, and I just felt like I needed to ask for a blessing. So I asked Elder Ruiz to give me a priesthood blessing to stop my bloody nose, we climbed up this hill to see one of the prettiest sunsets Ive ever seen. I included a picture but it doesn't do it justice. After the blessing, the bleeding immediately stopped.
I share this experience with my testimony that the true authority of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. The same priesthood that He and His disciples used in the Bible to heal the sick and bless lives is real and it is here. In the bible we read that God is the same, today yesterday and forever. He continues to work through a living prophet to bless his children. I know that He loves each and everyone of us, and he has restored his priesthood to the Earth. It's real and it works.
Love you all. Remember to share your light, we all need it :)
