Hello everyone! Kumusta kayong lahat! Another week has come and gone! This week.. my stomach has been continuing to hurt and would not get better. So I decided to swallow my pride and contact the mission leaders and in communicating with them they decided it would be best for the three of us who were sick to get checked out at the hospital the following morning. Basically long story short, they found out that I have parasites and had typhoid fever sometime in the past! But luckily I have some prescribed medicine that I've been taking and I now feel a lot better.
I'm going to be real honest with you all: this whole stomach sickness thing has been tough for me. There have been times when I've questioned the reasons why I even came out here. But, despite the difficulty of this trial, as it is now finally passing, my heart is filled with gratitude for the strength that the Lord has given me to patiently suffer through it. I'm so thankful and so happy that it's now getting taken care of and that it's not something serious enough to get sent home. I'm grateful for the chance I have to be here in the Philippines and to testify of Jesus Christ each and everyday. (despite the occasional typhoon or parasite)
I love you all, and I'm so grateful for each one of you. "I know in the strength of the Lord thou canst do all things" Alma 19:4. Even when life gets difficult and uncomfortable, we can rely on the Lord and His strength in order to overcome and push through. I now know that is really true.
Make it a great week, mahal ko kayong lahat!
