Week 32: Come unto Christ

Hello everyone!! My first week with Elder Abarabar has been very, very good. Oh my goodness I love him so much.. He's an excellent teacher, loves to work, and loves to have fun. I'm pretty happy right now :)

So there are 6 missionaries now in Abulug! When I first came here, there was only two, then it became four and now it's 6! The work is progressing in my area! The two new missionaries now opened up a new area in Flora, Apayo, where I did most of my work. Me and Elder Abarabar lost a lot of people we were teaching to the two new elders, so we've had to find new people and concentrate our efforts in the area closer to our house and the meeting house. It's been great.

One thing that I love about Elder Abarabar is that he literally talks to everyone and is really good at talking about the message of the restored gospel to everyone. Basically, it's been great so far :) He's also a very good cook and he's going to teach me how to make Filipino food.

I like this scripture in Jacob 1:7 - "Wherefore we labored diligently among our people, that we might persuade them to come unto Christ, and partake of the goodness of God, that they might enter into his rest" - The past few months I have been, unknowingly, losing a lot of my desire and conviction to talk to people and invite. The desire that I had so strongly that brought me out on a mission. I've had some hard times that had made me question why I'm even here, like those parasites for example..

But this scripture is really what it's all about. My desire to be a missionary never completely left, but it was beginning to dwindle. The last week Elder Abarabar has really taught me a lot about what a missionary is all about. I want to talk to people and invite them to come closer to Jesus Christ. The strong desire that I once had is coming back, I can feel it. Good things are coming.. I'm getting more motivated, practicing faith and courage.

So that's why I'm here, to invite others to come unto Christ, to labor diligently to help people enter into his rest. I love the purpose.
