Week 33: Down to the Dust

Hello everyone! Kumusta kayong lahat! This week has been very, very great. Elder Abarabar is a powerful teacher and a very good example to me. As we've been teaching and talking to people, I have sometimes gotten discouraged because I'm not the "master" teacher I want to be. I'm not as good at speaking Tagalog as I thought I was before I got a Filipino companion hahaha.. But as I was reading in the book of mormon this week, I came across this verse that seemed to speak right to me:
"let the justice of God, and his mercy, and his long-suffering have full sway in your heart; and let it bring you down to the dust in humility. And now, my son, ye are called of God to preach the word unto this people. And now my son, go thy way, declare the word with truth and soberness, that thou mayest bring souls unto repentance, that the great plan of mercy may have claim upon them."
This week hasn't been easy. It's hard spending all day everyday trying, rather unperfectly, to be like Jesus Christ. But I feel an overwhelming sense of peace that I know that God knows me and my struggles and that I can do what he's asked me to do.
One step at a time, no matter how small.
Merry Christmas everyone!! Love you all!!!

Hahaha here's a picture of Elder Abarabar holding a string. Story time: we broke out those old bikes we had and "fixed it"... rode out to our far area and then my bike completely broke down. Man it's falling apart! So after a quick heartfelt prayer, we found some string on the side of the road and took turns pulling each other all the way home.. HAHA everyone was laughing at us.. It was all Elder Abarabars idea I love him

Me and one of my recent converts :) love her and her family
