Hello again! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Maligayang Pasko!! Maraming pagkain!!! ;)
Hahaha how are you all! I hope you're enjoying this time of year to celebrate and be with family and friends. It's a special time of the year! Even across the world, I still enjoy this holiday season. We all have so much to be thankful for. Which is what I shortly want to share about this week.
I saw a white dude this week!!! Haha lemme tell you the story, so me and Elder Abarabar are walking to an appointment like Wednesday morning I think? We pass this house and theres a white man standing out there, so I go up to him and ask him if i can ask a question. He immediately threw his hands up and started saying things like "I already believe in God, Im fine!!" (I've missed white people) then Elder Abarabar told him he misunderstood and i just wanted to ask him where he's from.. hahaha so I got to talk to him a little bit and found out he's visiting and returning to Canada on Jan 2. I told him that I don't go home until April 2020, and he immediately said "YOU'RE SO LUCKY!!"
... that phrase has been running in my mind all week. Honestly this week has had some of my hardest days so far. I got sick the night of Christmas and I now have double ear infection and my stomach pains are seeming to come back. Am I really so lucky? I feel like sometimes Im just trying to survive here hahah
But I am so lucky to be here. I've tried to focus on being thankful through this trial, and it's made a big difference. I love it here. I love the people. I am truly lucky to be here. I'm learning that life doesn't have to be perfect to at least be good. It really depends a lot on our attitude.
I love this verse in alma 34:38. "Live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you." Even in the rough days, if we "live in thanksgiving" life is a whole lot better.
Anyways those are just some of my thoughts this week. Love you all!!! Enjoy your time home with family!!

We spent Christmas eve (the date on the picture is off) with one of our families we're teaching. Had a really fun FHE and a ton of food!
