Hello everyone!! It's been a very, very great week for me here in the ISLAND PARADISE.. Hahaha I've been looking at all the pictures of the snow and the cold which honestly makes me a lot less homesick hahaha. I definitely love it here and I'm grateful for the weather. It's starting to get hot. I've been starting to take three showers a day with how hot I am just to cool down with some cold water.
Anyways! Kumusta kayong lahat? Masaya na masaya ako.. Lemme tell you about some cool experiences this week.
This week was full of being led by the spirit, and I have a lot to say but I apologize I don't really have a whole lot of time. Elder Fuller has been struggling with his stomach ulcer, but we were able to go get a prescription for him. It seems to be helping. It hurts absolutely the most for him in the morning.. Seems so hard. I'm trying to help him remain sane and continue to be happy.. I've had a little bit of sickness so far in my mission and I've learned a little bit about "faith based optimism". Still learning.
One day we went out and worked.. and all of our appointments fell through.. and all of our backup plans. It seemed like we didn't know where we should go, we just felt like we weren't where we needed to be.. So we said a quick prayer and Elder Fuller that said he knew where we needed to go. So we went to this place called Sambangan, it's right on the beach and absolutely beautiful. We went there and talked to a member there, theres only one there. Nanay Caridad.. She told us that she's been trying to get the missionaries to go to her place for a while, but the past elders have told her that they were too busy.. But we told her that we were here to work with her and she brought us to a young mom who she had recently given a book of mormon too. This nanay is so humble and so ready to do missionary work. I love it and I'm super excited to go back there.
As a missionary it's so important to have the spirit with us at all times so we can know where to go, who to teach, and what to say. The spirit is the key to conversion! It's also so important in everyday life, even if you're not a full-time missionary :)
My invitation this week is to try a little harder to open your heart to what the spirit is trying to say to you. I promise you'll feel it and you'll be blessed if you act.
Love you all!! Make it a great week!
