Week 49: Cuts and sores

One day in a land far away

A man lived, knowing he wasn't to stay.

he tried to share the things that he knew,

and in many ways his knowledge grew.

The sun beamed down on that island home

and in the heat, the streets he roamed.

Day after day, the heat increased.

But he tried to keep a smile, at least.

The intense weather was rough on the man,

he could only take hope in his small electric fan.

In prayer, for cold weather he begged.

Then the next day he abruptly shaved his legs.

At first it felt great, now his whole life was made!

With that layer taken off, it was new life!

Little did he know there was to be more strife.

Then three days passed,

the discomfort he felt wouldn't be the last.

He itched and he itched but no comfort was gained,

a couple days later and now he was maimed.

When they popped up, those terrible sores,

he thought he couldn't take it no more.

It became hard to stand or to walk!

He reluctantly called up the doctor to talk.

He explained that rash decision he made,

and that night in Laoag he was forced to stay.

The story doesn't end there, as you all may know.

This man lived, with his scars to show.

The medicine worked well, his body was healed.

And this missionary ran back to the field.

Where he continued to teach about the Savior's light,

As he cried repentance with all of his might.

For this man knew, we all make mistakes.

That's why Christ came to Earth, an atonement to make.

For we all have our own "cuts" and "sores",

but their healing doesn't come from a store.

"Believe in me", the Savior invites us all.

'To change' is his gospel's call.

If we repent, and are baptized in his name,

we no longer carry those burdens of shame.

If you haven't quite yet,

or you've got a regret,

take this man's testimony and see

the healing of Christ, who bled in Gethsemane.

He died for us all,

so that we may rise every time we fall.

His church, in the days of old,

was watched by one Shepard, who loved His fold.

His church is restored, and is here today!

Anyone can know if they only will pray.

Day after day, with blistered feet,

this man shares in the Philippine heat.

Despite the challenges, he takes peace.

Sharing the Gospel of Christ, to come and to see.

Hello everyone! There's my short story about what happened to me this week.. I made a very poor decision to shave my legs which I have decided was the worst decision I have made in my whole life. It left me not being able to really walk/stand for a couple days. (whenever I stood my legs would just start bleeding) not fun! But despite that, I learned a lot this week!

I was able to watch General Conference which was absolutely amazing. Wow. I loved it! If you didn't get the chance to listen to it, listen to it! Everyone else, listen again! Very great messages. I feel like conference has changed so much for me as I've come on my mission. I've gotten a lot more out of it. (maybe I'm actually the one that's changed) haha.

Life is good for me! I love you all! I have news- last night I got a text from my mission president that said I will be training a new missionary!! I'm pretty excited! :)

Ingat kayo 'lagi!
