Hello everyone!! It's been a great week for me. I have been transferred and this has been my first week as a Zone Leader in BATAC, Illocos Norte! It's been awesome. I'm now with Elder Griffiths. He's a good guy. He's a great example of being exactly obedient and also diligent in all things. I think this companionship is gonna be a good one. I'm ready to buckle down, work hard, and serve diligently.
Here's some pictures of my week:

This was my last night in San Juan :( When I was with Elder Fuller, we ate EVERY NIGHT at this one restaurant, (over 2 months) and I got to know the workers really well, so I wanted to take a picture with them. I loved everyone that I met in San Juan. I really feel like I became a small part of the community from the 6 months I was there, I met a lot of people that I became friends with. It's hard to leave and start over.

this is my new companionship. I'm with Elder Griffiths, and Elder Cabasal. Elder Griffiths is from Grass Valley, California, and he's insanely good at volleyball and is a workout freak. Elder Cabasal is going home on Friday to study accounting.

This is one of the people we're teaching who is really close to baptism! His name is Ian and he's super cool. He's also really, really good at making custom dresses. It's his hobby. He's also kinda famous here for it. He showed us a lot of pictures and he's really good. I think I may call him up when my temple date is close... ;)

pretty sunset. I like the sunset's here.

Here is pictures of us at MCM, missionary coordination meeting. Our Ward mission leader is super cool, he's like 25 and we played basketball with him earlier this morning.

This is an amazing restaurant in our area called "Bowled Over". It's freaking delicious. All they have are these rice bowls with meat, veggies, and an egg. It's so good. I ordered this one called Teriyummy. It lived up to it's name.

Here's us taking some bridge pictures. My area is mostly a city but it's also got some jungle. That's why I love the Philippines. I'm in the middle of the biggest city in our zone, but there's some jungle right outside. The world and the many beautiful creations of God are close here in the Philippines.

Here's a hawk that we found when we stopped to get some crackers. I caught a picture of it winking at me so that's cool.

It's so, so hot here. Sometimes we take a break inside the 7/11 because it has air conditioning. We but something cold and take off our shoes. You gotta do what you gotta do

This is one of the part member families we are working with. They're so nice. So far I really, really like the members and the people we're teaching here. I'm excited to work here in Batac City.

Well that's my week! It's been awesome. Lots and lots of changes. One scripture that really stuck out to me this week in my studies was D&C 88:123: "See that ye love one another; cease to be covetous; learn to impart one to another as the gospel requires."
I've been pondering the phrase, "learn to impart". I think it is so important that we learn to impart or to give of our possessions, the things that we have, to others. It's all based on our love for others and our love for the Savior Jesus Christ who gave everything to us. Something that I've really tried to do for awhile is being free with my substance, letting others use what I have, and sharing my time and my things with those who are in need/those who I love. I have found that as I have learned to "impart", I have learned more about the gospel and about the atonement of Jesus Christ. I'm excited to continue learning from the examples of the Philippine people, who have this quality as a strength, giving anything they have to others.
Well, that's enough for one week. I love you all. I love my mission. I love this work and this people.
Make it a great week okay! :-)
Love,
Elder Childers
