Hello everyone!! This week has been a really good one for me. Let's start off with some pictures :-)
09/03/2019
We got to attend MLC again this week. Which means going up to the mission home for great food and a good time to see mission friends. It's a lot of fun and I got to see my homie Elder Funk. I love this guy

This is all of us in my batch that were at MLC.. Crazy that Sister Gardner is going home really soon! We were in the MTC with her and she's almost done. A sister's mission goes by so fast. She has one more transfer left! :)

We had the opportunity to have a wonderful lesson with these really talented blind kids. Here's some pictures and I'll try to have my mom include a video of them. They're so talented. I love them. They all also came to church yesterday which was awesome :)

Name that movie? hehe

Well that's my pictures for this week. It went by really fast. This week was full of teaching. Elder Hall and I have really increased our teaching pool by a lot in this area. We've been going back to everyone and we're really excited about some people that we are beginning to teach. The fire is starting up here in Batac. It's gonna be a good one.
Despite all the good that is happening in the work, I am still sometimes so tired and exhausted that it's hard to continue going. I know that the Lord is my strength and my song, I know that if I can try as hard as I can then He will bless my efforts. Despite that knowledge and testimony, life here can be hard. Sometimes the mission in of itself is a challenge. Yesterday I had one of those moments when I wanted nothing more than to see and talk to my family and friends again.
I've been studying the Old Testament and learning a lot from it. I love the story of the children of Israel and their journey out of Egypt into the promised land. In Deuteronomy 8, we read one of the reasons why the children of Israel were challenged in the wilderness for 40 years.
"And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no."
Sometimes we all go through things like this. It might not be wandering around in the desert for 40 years, but all of us have trials and hardships. I tried to compare my 2 year mission to the 40 year trial that Israel went through. We can't really compare trials, but this verse can be applied to us all. We go through these things so that we will be humble. I have learned time and time again on my mission that God is truly the one who leads us.
When times are tough, it's our opportunity for us to show the Lord that we truly love him and are willing to follow his commandments.
I'm nowhere near perfection. I'm so grateful for a loving savior and for a living prophet to guide me through this wilderness. I'm thankful for the opportunity each day to change and to draw close to Him. I'll do my best to always remember Him, all the way.
I love you all. Have a great week. Be thankful for the manna in your wilderness :)
