Hello everyone! This week was really good. I saw a lot of progress in the work and in the people we're working with this week. I absolutely love this work - it's ALL about seeing the changes in people's lives. That's what repentance is. I'm learning that it's the most rewarding and fulfilling feeling that I think I've ever felt - seeing change and peace come into the lives of those I just met. The gospel of Jesus Christ is truly the process of becoming BETTER and overcoming the natural man.
Last Monday after we emailed and stuff, we were able to go out and work with one of the senior missionaries here. It was so much fun. The people we're teaching loved it as well. We then went down to downtown Laoag and looked at the lights and nativity scene the city had set up. Here's some pics :)

Working with Christmas has been pretty challenging. Lots of people were either not home or partying to hard to have time to talk to us. But, it turned out to be really fun. On Christmas eve, we bought coconut juice from the guy and I liked his shirt so much I took a picture with him. here it is.

If you can't see it it says: "Trust the Process". It's funny, because it's a saying that our mission has adopted lately with doing the Lord's work. When we are doing our best to talk to others and to invite them to change and to have a better life - that's the process! Finding those who are prepared to receive it. Of course, it can get discouraging sometimes. But - trust it! it works.
Here is another picture of us and one of the people we're teaching - we had a running joke with her that we would bring her a yum burger from jollibee and we finally did on Christmas. She was pretty happy :)

This past week my last companion Elder Wilson was emailing and he got a virus and all of his pictures on his SD card were deleted. Over a year of memories was lost just in a second. Luckily, he was able to get it back after spending 6 hours trying to get it back with the help of some other computer-genius elders. Once he got all of the pictures back, he uploaded them to google photos. And, I finally did the same thing. It really shocked me and I wouldn't want it to happen to me, so I spent some time uploading every single photo and video I've taken these past 20 months onto google photos. In the uploads, I reviewed over them and I was really taken back of how much I have CHANGED this past chunk of my life.
When I entered the MTC on May 9 2018 I feel like I was such a different person. It's hard to explain just how but that's just how it feels. The album on google photos now has all my mission memories - I titled it "The Process"
The mission has been such a process of refinement, improvement, and becoming better each day. It's been a process for sure.
Well as we pass Christmas we head into the new year. That means a new change to change. Here's a quote that I found, I like it a lot. "We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are." - Max De Pree. I use this quote a lot when I'm teaching people. We are here to improve. Here to prepare. Here to change. Here to become as He is.
Have a great week everyone - and remember to trust the process! Trust the Lord!
