So many great things happened this week. I have loved it so much.
This last last week me and Elder Burton were out finding and we were talking to this guy who had no desire to change. In the middle of the conversation, a lady walked into the room selling vegetables. We began to talk to her and she seemed so stressed, tired, and worried. We got to know her for a little while and she walked with us about a quarter mile to find her house. After we got back to her house, she told us about how people were threatening to destroy her house. We talked a lot about the problems she had been experiencing. All problems have a solution, and the biggest solution to every problem is the gospel of Jesus Christ. We shared a little about that and invited her to come to church on Sunday.
We prayed, and we began to leave. Halfway across her doorstep I had a feeling to give her a Book of Mormon. So, I turned and asked her if she wanted to gain peace in her life. She replied yes, and so I pulled out the book and gave it to her. We asked her to read a certain chapter for next time, she then asked if we could just stay and read it with her. So we went back inside and read half the chapter with her and talked about how much Jesus knows what she's going through and He has a plan for her. It was a special moment as the Book of Mormon allowed the spirit to come to our hearts and testify of God's love for her, for my companion, and for me. I felt it so strongly as we read about Jesus's visit to the people in ancient america. I know that book is true.
Now, that sister has come to church 2 times and is progressing towards her baptism in March. We've gone back there almost daily and even went there earlier this morning. Seeing the changes in her and her family's countenance and in her life is truly remarkable. It's almost like a noticeable shade of light in her eyes that wasn't there before. The light of the gospel is beginning to shine in their home and in their countenance :)
So, the work is going really well. I'm grateful for the people that we're blessed to meet each day. I love my mission so much and I am forever grateful for the light of the gospel that has warmed and brightened my life. I know that God is always there for us and He is waiting for us with his arms stretched. All he wants is us to change and to come closer to Him by living His gospel.
I love you all! I wish you all the best week.

We bought Philippine farmer hats from the person I wrote this story about. Less than a dollar and it made it feel so much better without the sun beating down on my face.. I think I'll start wearing this hat every day... hahaha

Our apartment has always had a rat problem and now we're finally trying to do something about it.. so far we've caught one of these guys every night. There's gotta be so many of them. Call us the rat killers!
